Product FAQs

Hello Urbane-ers!
We know that you have a lot of questions related to our individual products - how exactly DO our maps look like on a poster print, mug, T-shirt, or tote bag? Here, we give you all the answers by providing generic examples of each of our products.

WHAT DOES AN URBANE MUG LOOK LIKE?

A cup only provides a very limited area of space for us to print our maps -
so for most of our cups we shift our logo off to the sides,
so that the map is the most important part of your ceramic treasure.

WHAT DOES AN URBANE TOTE BAG LOOK LIKE?

We were pleasantly surprised at how great our maps turn out on canvas print.
These work out best with our vertically-oriented maps because the tote bags we use are slightly taller
than they are wide. As you can see with Seattle, this is a really cool way to show off your favorite city
while doing regular errands on the go.

WHAT DOES AN URBANE T-SHIRT LOOK LIKE? WHERE IS THE MAP ACTUALLY PRINTED?

As you can see in this example tee for San Francisco, our map images tend to be focused
higher up to the neck of the tee than towards the bottom.
Also, because we print on American Apparel, you should expect your shirt to be somewhat slim-fitting
(and WAY more hip) than any Fruit of the Loom!

COULD I JUST SEE A POSTER ON A RANDOM WALL, JUST TO SEE WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE?

Although MOST of our posters cover most of the entire print area, there are TWO EXCEPTIONS
to this in the Urbane map collection. This would be the Las Vegas Strip and Manhattan -
due to their unique narrow lengths, these prints will end up with some empty space on both the left and right sides.
In order to maintain print consistency, we do not trim these edges when delivering to you -
we also think this is an advantage to our customers because they do not need to find custom frames to fit the prints, either!

WHAT DO THE PRODUCTS LOOK LIKE WHEN THEY'RE SHIPPED?
Cups and other delicates are sent with the proper packaging and boxing are a sent in another cardboard box
labeled as "fragile" so that your mail carrier remembers not to break it :)
...as for posters, they are shipped in a cardboard tube via Priority Mail.

We hope this answers most of your questions! If you have any additional inquiries about your order, feel free to contact one of us on the Urbane Team by e-mailing us here!
